The Empire State Plaza was designed by modernist architect Wallace Harrison, who also designed Rockefeller Center and the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Several thousand workers constructed the eleven buildings of the Empire State Plaza between 1965 and 1978. This fun flipbook shows the towers going up in just a few seconds. (You can also go back in time and watch them shrink when you flip backwards.)
