Peter Plush Pawlitical Pets

Governor Roosevelt & his six children loved animals; they owned many throughout Roosevelt’s time as Governor. One notable pet was their rabbit, Peter. Peter was an adored pet & important member of the family. A letter from Roosevelt in 1904 describes the elaborate funeral the family held to honor Peter’s memory.
